We didn’t have much of a weekend on the face of it at Thruxton but we reckon we’ve still got reasons to be cheerful – and optimistic.

We showed at Spa that we can compete and winning the Sunoco Driver of the Weekend award, pictured, was a massive boost for me and for the whole team.

To go to Belgium to such a great circuit and come away with three top tens and a trophy was brilliant.

We were on the pace again at Thruxton and could really have done so much better but for a couple of mistakes – one by me and one by Daisuke Nakajima which put me out of the third race when I was going really well.

That’s racing though and it’s better to come off knowing you had the potential to do well rather than knowing that you’ve finished 15th and that was the best you could do.

We’ve had a bit of a race against time to get the car ready for Silverstone but we’ve made it and we’ll be there.
